Jocelyn Friis
Jocelyn’s love of all things creative has been with her since childhood. Awakened by her Steiner education, she learnt to appreciate creativity in nature, and this led her on a lifelong journey of exploration through art. Jocelyn works both in acrylics and encaustic medium, bringing abstract expressionism to life in the exploration of her world. She embraces the uncertainties and mysteries that she encounters both on the canvas and in her day to day life. She loves looking to nature for inspiration and life metaphors and translating that into her own interpretive works.
Jocelyn also enjoys creating surface pattern designs and dabbling in photography, She lives in the coastal town of Mangawhai, north of Auckland, where she works out of her studio, enjoying her natural surroundings of beach and bush.
