Artist & illustrator Michael Kennedy (aka Malangeo) creates wonderfully weird portraits of “creepy-cute” critters & birds, voluptuous beauties & fragile floral beings all inspired by the natural world. His work is a celebration of traditional oil painting techniques and contemporary pop surreal style. Brought up on the irreverent humour of cartoons and comics like The Farside and Calvin & Hobbes; his art oozes of whimsical charm, dark humour and pop culture references.
Michael has held solo shows at The Depot Artspace & Satellite gallery in New Zealand, and has been in many group exhibitions in the USA, South America, UK, Europe and Asia.
